Local libraries are often overlooked as a source of information. Many now subscribe to expensive databases. Check out libraries near where you live and where you work. Are there others you can join? You might be surprised at how easy it is to join a library and access some of its resources via the internet. This could save you thousands of pounds.

There are many databases which have information on companies, directors and sometimes shareholders. Ask for access on a trial basis. If a product looks like the thing you need, ask for a discount and ask if they allow (further) discounts if two or more organisations share subscriptions.
